Pansemal was an outstation of Chikliya parish. In 1978 it became an independent parish. Fr. T.P. Abraham was appointed as the first parish priest of the place. The Augustinian sisters joined the parish community on 22nd November 1991 offering their service in the field of education, health care and social work.
