Late Fr. Wuellner, Late Fr. Francis Alvares, Sr. Kaethi Hauser, catechists Mr.Yohan Munia, Joseph Bhabor sowed the seeds of the Gospel and established Christian community in and around Jalkheda. Jalkheda is one of the oldest out stations of the Chikliya Parish and was raised to the status of a Parish on 27th November 2012, At the site of the old chapel, Rev. Rev. Fr. Jimmy Vayalil built a new Church and Presbytery. Fr. Laijo Jose Poonolly was appointed the first parish priest. Sisters of Sant Joseph Sevika Sanstha joined the parish community in the same year.
