Barwaha was a substation of Sanawad Parish. In 1975, Fr. Nicholas Jez SVD built a Church at C.R.P. Campus to meet the religious needs of the Christian faithful. Later in 1983 Khandwa Diocese started an English Medium School (St. Mary’s H.S. School.) Franciscan Sisters of the Presentation of Mary from Coimbatore came to Barwaha to offer their service to the Parish in 1983. Barwaha was raised to the status of a parish in 1993 and Fr. Cyriac Pallikunnel was appointed as the first parish priest. At present Mandleshwar mission has been entrusted to this parish.
