Burhanpur became a Parish in 1975 with Rev. Fr. Laurence Monteiro assuming the charge as the first parish priest. Prior to this, it was a substation of Nepanagar parish and Rev. Fr. Joseph Lobuscher SVD was the parish priest and later Rev. Fr. Joe D’Cruz, operating from Nepanagar, was taking care of the pastoral needs of the faithful. The CMC sisters registered their presence in Burhanpur in the year 1965 as the staff of Nehru Montessori School. Rev. Fr. Lobuscher constructed the Parish church in 1973. Khrist Nivas convent was constructed in the parish premise in 1975. Ever since their arrival, the sisters are rendering commendable service in the field of education, and pastoral apostolate of the parish
