Franciscan Brothers (CMFS) established Sirpur mission in1902, which is one of the oldest in East Nimar. During the initial years of Nimar Mission devastating plague played havoc and swept the country side. The missionaries made a promise to our blessed mother that if the village would be spared from this menace they would build a shrine in her honour and in 1925 the pilgrimage centre was started. Grotto of the Blessed Mother Mary has been declared as a Diocesan Marian Pilgrim Center. Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit began their apostolate on 25th January 1950 at Sirpur and are involved in pastoral, educational and social activities. Dharampuri is an outstation of Sirpur Parish and the pastoral and spiritual needs of this village has been taken care of by Fr. John Baptist Virginia and S.J.S. sisters Since August 2022.
