The pastoral need of faithful of Khalwa was taken care of previously by the resident priests of Catholic Church, Bhagavanpura. In 2012 it was annexed to Deoli Parish for a while. It was raised to the status of independent parish in April 2016. Rev. Fr. Alex Paul Ekkan was appointed as the first parish priest of the parish. The Daughters of the Church joined the mission in May 2011.
