Karpur mission was looked after from Khandwa by Franciscan Brothers until 1932 and was handed over to Divine Word Missionaries in 1934. Fr. Gerald Hofstee SVD became the first Parish Priest. The SMMI sisters came to Karpur in 1979 and have been assisting in all the activities of the Parish. Rev. Fr. Jerome Ziliak SVD developed Karpur as a model farm parish.
