Deshgaon and surrounding villages were separated from Khandwa Parish in 1972 and was invested status of new Parish. Fr. Gerard Hofstee SVD was appointed as the first Parish Priest. The sisters of Sant Joseph Sevika Sanstha began their apostolate at Deshgaon in 1975. Hospitaller Brothers of St. John of God joined the parish community on 1st September 1985.
