Deoli is mainly a Korku mission initiated in 1936 by Fr. William Knopp SVD who used to visit Deoli from Sirpur and later in 1942 he settled in Dongalia, an outstation of Deoli parish now. When Deoli was made Parish, Rev. Fr. Josef Huebner SVD was appointed the first Parish priest. The present church was built when late Rev. Fr. John Thayil was the Parish priest. It was in 1977 the sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery joined the parish community.
