Dang became an independent parish on 14th June 2005 by bifurcating from Punasa Parish. Till then Dang and surrounding villages were part of Punasa Parish. The catholic communities of Barelas of Dang parish were originally from Barwani and Chikliya area. Rev. Fr. Mathew K. George was appointed the first parish priest. On 21st June 2008 CMC sisters began their service in the parish and are involved in evangelical and pastoral activities.
