Bir was an outstation of Khandwa parish. In 1980 it was made a parish with Fr. Lawrence Pereira SVD as first Parish Priest. Sisters of the Little flower of Child Jesus joined the Mission in 2003 and worked till 2017. The Dominican Sisters of the Rosary began their service in the Parish in 2017.
